Update from Mom

Hope this update finds all our friends, family, and blog readers healthy and happy after the holidays. Our family, like all other American families, has been very busy the past 6-8 weeks. But we are now looking forward to a more relaxed schedule in the upcoming months, we hope! It was so wonderful to go home and see family over Christmas. Sorry to everyone who enjoyed our germs with us:-)

I just wanted to update people on Caleb's ears. We have discovered that Caleb is indeed allergic to dairy products. We have been on a strict dairy free diet and Caleb is a new kid. No cold like symptoms, no allergy like symptoms, he is off his asthma medication and has no wheezing...he is even growing! The check up with the ENT was a couple weeks after making the change to dairy free living. At that time Caleb continued to have white, mucus like drainage behind his right ear drum. The ENT said that under normal conditions he would recommend a second set of tubes and removing Caleb's adenoid, but that since we had noticed such a big difference in him since the diet change he was welling to wait and recheck him later. So in the end of February Caleb will see him again to see if the drainage is still behind his ear drum. If it remains there then Caleb will most likely get tubes again.
