A Real Turtle

Mom and Dad found this real turtle in our backyard. I don't know if it is really a turtle. I couldn't find any sand under its shell...but mom says it is, and she is usually right, so I'll take her word for it.
I was petting it, being gentle like I am with cats and dogs, but mom kept holding my arm. She said she was nervous the turtle would bite met. She is silly. It was a nice turtle. When was the last time you ever saw a turtle bite?
It is hot. In the 80's. Even though it is hot I had fun running all over the yard. Turtles are only fun for so long you know (especially when you can't find the sand). I told dad he need to make the grass shorter, I'm just a little man, and it is getting tall. He said he would. Here I am hiding under my bed. I thought that if I stayed here long enough mom might forget about me and then I wouldn't have to always pose for the camera. No such luck. The camera still found me.
